An Experimental Study on Catecholamine Contents in the Uterine and Stomach Tissue of Mature Female Rabbits by Prostaglandin F©ü_(¥á)and Estrogen Administration

Abstract
The prostaglandins are a group of local tissue hormone with various biological activities that involve almost every organ system.
An attempt was made to clarify the effects of prostaglandin Fla on the catecholamine contents in the uterine and stomach tissue of mature female-albino rabbits weighing approximately 2.0.kg. Group j was normal control group.
Group I was treated .with 100 g/kg of prostaglandin FZ..
Group _ I -was preconditioned -with 5000 /kg of estrogen and treated with 100 g/kg of prostaglandin F2Q.
Catecholamine content was determined by Shore and .Olin method.
The results obtained were as follow:
ThS otecholamine content_in the-normal uterine tissue was 0.330.06 jig/gm. The catecho-Ia,mine content 4 the uterine. tissue was .greater, than that in the stomach tissue.
2,- In the prosta, glandin Fza treated _group, the catecholamine content in the uterine tissue was 1.260.54 %gig/gm, while that in the stomach tissue was 0.330.02 g/gm. It showed that the catecholamine content in the uterine and stomach tissue were significantly increased by administration of prostaglandin. F=..
3 In the-estrogen preconditioned prostaglandin Fza treated group, the catecholamine content in the uterine tissue was 0.320.12 g/gm, while that in the stomach tissue was 0.140.07 $/g m. It }showed that -the catecholamine content in the stomach tissue was increased to compare with the
1 rmal control group Y
4~~¢¥ a -cat~ec¢¥hola. mine content in the uterine tissu8 showed a marked increase in the prostaglandin Ffed-grotrp, where ¢¥was no¢¥ z change in the estrogen precon3rti6ned prostaglandin Fz
